Interactive Screens for Developer Sales Galleries & Showrooms Across the Gulf & Africa

A sales gallery has one job: turn a masterplan into a signed reservation before the visitor leaves the building. The right interactive screen does more for that conversion than the scale model, because it lets a sales agent filter available units by floor, view and payment plan in front of the buyer, then push the chosen unit to a CRM. Developers from Dubai and Riyadh to Cairo, Lagos and Nairobi are now standardising this experience across multiple galleries, and procurement teams need specifications that survive marble lobbies, direct sun and a launch date that will not move. This guide covers what to specify, how to brief the content, and how to roll it out gallery by gallery.

Quick reference: interactive screens for sales galleries

  • Masterplan explorer: a 75 to 98 inch 4K interactive screen or a 2x2 video wall driven by a Windows OPS with a dedicated GPU.
  • Touch table: 43 to 55 inch, 40-point capacitive touch, tempered glass, tilt-adjustable, for seated unit selection with the agent.
  • Unit-selection wall: LED or LCD video wall, 500 nits or higher for glass-fronted galleries, running live availability from the sales CRM.
  • Content: Unity or Unreal real-time 3D, or a browser-based explorer, in Arabic, English and French where the buyer base demands it.
  • Rollout: freeze one hardware kit, ship pre-configured from the UAE hub, and commission each gallery in 3 to 5 days with local installers.

The four interactive screen roles in a modern gallery

Walk through a well-designed gallery and you meet four display roles in order. At the entrance, a large-format brand wall, usually LED or a 3x3 LCD video wall, plays the project film at a brightness that beats the lobby glass. Next, the masterplan explorer: a single 86 or 98 inch interactive screen or a 2x2 video wall where the agent flies through the development, toggles phases, and shows views from any tower. Then the touch table, where buyer and agent sit and filter units by bedroom count, floor, orientation and price band, pulling live availability. Finally, the closing room display, a 65 or 75 inch interactive screen where the payment plan and floor plan are annotated, signed and emailed.

Each role has different hardware needs. The brand wall is about brightness and seamlessness; the explorer is about GPU power and touch latency; the table is about glass durability and viewing angle for two people seated at 45 degrees; the closing room is about annotation and screen sharing. Specify each separately rather than buying one panel model for the whole gallery.

Specifying the hardware

For the masterplan explorer, a 4K interactive flat panel of 86 or 98 inches with 20-point or better touch and under 8 ms touch latency is the baseline. The compute matters more than the glass: real-time 3D explorers built in Unity or Unreal need a Windows OPS module with a discrete GPU and 32 GB of RAM, not the panel's built-in Android. Our OPS and compute collection includes GPU-class modules; ask your content studio for the minimum specification before you tender. For 2x2 or 3x3 walls, specify 0.88 mm or narrower bezels, factory colour calibration and a video-wall controller that presents the wall as one 4K or 8K desktop to the OPS.

Touch tables are the most abused item in a gallery: coffee, handbags, children. Specify tempered glass of at least 4 mm at Mohs 7, an IP54-rated front, 40-point projected-capacitive touch, and a tilt frame that locks between 0 and 60 degrees. A 55 inch table suits a seated agent and two buyers; 43 inch works in compact galleries. For the brand wall in glass-fronted galleries in Dubai Marina or King Abdullah Financial District, specify 500 to 700 nits for LCD or 1,000 nits and above for fine-pitch LED at 1.5 to 1.9 mm pixel pitch. Brands we regularly supply for this segment include Samsung, LG and MAXHUB for the interactive pieces. See our LED video wall procurement guide for the wall specification in depth.

Content, CRM and multilingual buyers

Hardware without content is a very expensive mirror, and content is usually on a separate contract with a 3D studio. Align the two early: the studio needs the exact panel resolution, aspect ratio, touch protocol and OPS specification, and the hardware tender needs the studio's GPU and RAM minimums. Decide whether the explorer is a native application, which runs offline and is faster, or a browser-based tool, which is easier to update across galleries but depends on connectivity. In Lagos, Nairobi and Cairo galleries, specify an offline-capable application with scheduled sync so a network drop does not stop a viewing.

Live availability is the feature buyers remember. The explorer and touch table should read unit status from the sales CRM or inventory system by API, with a 60-second refresh, so two agents in two galleries cannot sell the same unit. Reservation from the screen should write back to the CRM with the buyer's details captured on the closing-room display. For language, Gulf galleries need Arabic and English with right-to-left layouts; Cairo galleries add Arabic first; francophone West Africa and the Maghreb add French. Build the content once with a language toggle rather than three separate applications.

Procurement and multi-gallery rollouts

Developers rarely open one gallery. A single launch may involve the on-site gallery, a headquarters showroom, a mall pop-up and roadshow galleries in London, Mumbai or Riyadh. Freeze one hardware kit per role, order the total quantity in one purchase order for pricing leverage, and stage the kits at a UAE free-zone hub for pre-configuration: OPS imaging, content pre-load, touch calibration and 48-hour burn-in. Each gallery then receives a boxed kit that installs in 3 to 5 days with a local partner. Our guide to local installation and commissioning partners covers how to brief and contract them.

Lead times are the launch-date risk. Allow 4 to 6 weeks for manufacturing and freight to the UAE for 86 and 98 inch panels and fine-pitch LED, plus 2 to 4 weeks of sea freight to Egypt, Kenya or Nigeria, or 3 to 7 days by air at 3 to 4 times the cost. Duty and VAT vary from about 5 percent in the GCC to 20 to 35 percent combined in several African markets, so quote landed, not ex-works. For temporary roadshow galleries, consider leasing or a buy-back arrangement rather than purchasing panels that will be idle after 6 months.

Warranty, spares and service during a launch

A gallery failing on launch weekend is not a warranty question; it is a revenue question. Specify advance-replacement service for the explorer and touch table, with a spare OPS module and a spare touch-table glass held in-country. Require 24-hour on-site response during the launch window and next-business-day thereafter. Our article on warranty and spare-parts logistics explains how to structure this across countries. Ask the supplier for a remote-management platform that reports panel temperature, OPS health and content version for every gallery on one dashboard.

FAQ

What size interactive screen should a masterplan explorer use?

An 86 or 98 inch 4K interactive flat panel for most galleries, or a 2x2 video wall where the gallery has a double-height wall and the budget for a wall controller.

Can the built-in Android run our 3D explorer?

Usually not. Real-time 3D content from Unity or Unreal needs a Windows OPS module with a discrete GPU; the panel's Android is fine for video, brochures and browser-based tools only.

How do we keep unit availability accurate across galleries?

Connect the explorer and touch table to the sales CRM by API with a 60-second refresh and write reservations back to the CRM so two galleries cannot sell the same unit.

How long does it take to equip a new gallery?

With a pre-configured kit from the UAE hub, 3 to 5 days on site. Add 4 to 6 weeks for manufacturing and freight if the kit has not been ordered in advance.
