A digital podium — or smart lectern — puts the presenter's display, annotation surface, microphone and source switching into one piece of furniture, so a speaker walks up, taps the screen and begins. For auditoriums, majlis halls, council chambers and university theatres across the GCC and Africa, it is the difference between a five-minute fumble with cables and a session that starts on time. This guide covers what to specify and how regional procurement usually runs.
What a modern digital podium includes
- An angled touch display (21″-32″) mirroring or driving the hall's main screen, with pen annotation the audience sees live.
- Source switching and connectivity — HDMI and USB-C inputs, wireless presentation, and control of the hall's main interactive display or LED wall.
- Audio — gooseneck microphone, amplifier routing, and optional voice lift for large rooms; pair with our microphones and speaker systems.
- Height adjustment and access — motorised height for standing and seated presenters, a practical requirement in inclusive government facilities.
Pairing the podium with the hall display
The lectern is the cockpit; the hall still needs a main canvas. In lecture theatres that is usually an 86″-98″ interactive panel; in larger auditoriums, LED video walls take over. Decide the pairing first, because it fixes cable routes, floor boxes and conduit before fit-out — retrofitting trunking through a finished majlis floor is the most common (and most avoidable) cost overrun we see.

Procurement notes for GCC & African projects
Most podium purchases sit inside a larger auditorium or building tender. Keep three things in the specification: certification for the destination market (CE, SASO, G-Mark — see our compliance guide), on-site warranty terms per country, and commissioning by a local partner — our network is described in installation & commissioning partners. For ministries and universities buying for multiple sites, standardise one podium model so spare parts and training carry across, as argued in our multi-country rollout guide.
Frequently asked questions
What does a digital podium cost?
Configurations range widely — screen size, motorised height, audio and switching all move the number, and landed cost differs by country. Podiums are therefore quote-only; send us your hall drawings for a firm price.
Can a podium drive both a stage display and overflow screens?
Yes — with a matrix switcher or AV-over-IP, one lectern feeds the stage panel, overflow rooms and recording simultaneously.
Do you deliver and install outside the UAE?
Yes — we ship and commission across the GCC and Africa through vetted local partners.
